Is the Job Description Internal or Visible to Applicants?
The Job Description is the public-facing posting content. It is shown to applicants on the job's public application page
(the link you share or that gets promoted to job boards), and it is what appears in any LinkedIn, Indeed, or Brokerkit
Jobs preview.
If you have notes that should stay internal — such as commission splits, candidate scoring criteria, or HR-only context
— keep those out of the Job Description and use the Internal Code or Internal Notes fields, or capture them on the
contact profile after an applicant comes in. Those internal fields are not shown to applicants.
A useful mental model:
- Job Description → public; visible to anyone who views the job posting or the application page.
- Application Form (covered below) → controls what information you collect from applicants; the form labels are
visible to applicants but their submissions land in your Brokerkit account.
- Internal Code / Internal Notes → only visible to your team inside Brokerkit.

How often should I refresh job descriptions, and can a boosted post stay live while I prepare the next one?
We recommend refreshing job descriptions roughly every 30 days so the postings stay fresh on the job boards (Indeed,
LinkedIn, etc.) and continue to attract the maximum number of applicants. Stale postings get deprioritized by job-board
algorithms.
If you are using the BrokerKit Jobs feature directly (you create and manage the postings yourself):
- You can keep a current posting active in BrokerKit while you prepare the next version.
- When the new version is ready, save it and the previous posting will be replaced.
- The "no longer available" page that contacts may see briefly only appears once a posting is taken down or expires;
if the new version is published before the old one is taken down, there is no gap.
If you are a BrokerBoost customer (BrokerKit's done-for-you sponsored job posting service):
- The BrokerBoost team rotates your job descriptions each month on your behalf to keep them fresh.
- Boosted postings are funded by credits, where each credit covers a certain number of clicks across the job boards.
- Yes — a boosted post can stay active while the replacement is being prepared. The BrokerBoost team can build out the
next post while your current one is still running, so there is no gap in coverage. In practice the credits on a
boosted post typically run out before the end of the month, which is when the replacement takes over.
- If you have specific timing concerns for a campaign (a hiring deadline, a recruiting event), reach out to your
BrokerBoost contact and we will coordinate the rotation around it.
